The Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-city, located at the Bohai Gulf in Tianjin, China, is a model for an environmentally friendly city. It was established in 2008 with the objectives of achieving sustainable development, reducing environmental pollution and improving the quality of life for its citizens. The Eco-City comprises of a core area of 30 sq km and a peripheral area of 70 sq km. It is a joint effort between the governments of China and Singapore, and the aim is to build an eco-city with an integrated approach to environmental protection, resource conservation and urban planning.
In terms of renewable energy and environmental protection, the Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-City has set several indicators to ensure that its citizens have access to sustainable energy and that the environment is protected.
